it’s been a long journey. I’ve been through so many fires I’m officially fire proof. The road has sometimes stopped, and sometimes there’s been tornadoes right in front of me. Somehow, someway, I have managed to push through all obstacles. I may not be the next big thing on the radio. I may not be a VMA winner this year. There’s a lot of things that i MAY NOT be…. but there is one thing I am ….. A NATIONAL RECORDING ARTIST. I have worked so hard, and to be honest, it’s a little foreign to me to sit back and actually appreciate where I am now, but I must appreciate the fact that I made it this far. A lot of people don’t get to this point. I am releasing an album for the entire country to hear IN STORES !
So i had to be in Phoenix the first day of the convention this year. So, i didn’t have the chance to watch my students kill their piece? But from what i heard, they were best in show ! So that made me so excited ! and PROUD to say the least.
Then i stuck around to talk to Popin Pete for a while and we just started talkin about how the dancers today just don’t understand hip hop and work ethic. It was a good talk.. eventually he decided to record himself telling everyone to come train with me because i keep it real and teach REAL HIP HOP and the proper elements to make dancers an authority in hip hop.
I first saw this the other day on the Ellen Show. Kimberly Caldwell, ( pictured ) wore it on her performance. Unfortunately, i liked the gloves more than the performance.
So.. today i had my first big meeting with all the dj’s and mixers at Power 106 in LA. If you don’t know, power 106 is the most influential urban radio station on the west coast. So i had to basically meet and greet and allow them to hear my newest single. Seemed like they liked the record and we all got along well…. looking forward to working with these people. Just an honor to be honest. One kid with a dream – coming from the gump… crazy !
